It seems that Audio Endpoint is causing some type of compatibility issue with my headset's microphone which causes it not to be recognized.

Which leads me to believe the problem lays within Windows 8.1 solely.Īfter a few days of trying to find a solution, which included- uninstalling and re-installing drivers, trying to update drivers, making sure microphone was set to default and many many other things, I came to the conclusion that the problem lies within AudioĮndpoint (a driver which I did not see on Windows 8, normally it just used the Turtle Beach driver assigned to that headset).
I have tested the microphone in other devices such as a PS3 and my partners PC which is running Windows 8 and both of them have no problem recognizing the microphone and it works flawlessly. This never occurred on the previous Windows 8 version.Īlthough the microphone does not work via USB, I can receive Audio through the headset via 3.5mm jack. This means that I am unable to select the microphone When plugging in the headset the any USB port on my laptop, I get an error saying that "the device could not be recognized" or "the last device plugged in has malfunctioned" or something along those lines.
After doing so the microphone on my Turtle Beach PX22 USB Headset has run into some problems that I do not encounter on Windows 8. I recently updated to Windows 8.1 on my Toshiba Satellite L850.
